OVERVIEW
Since its founding in 2004, the Australian owned and ASX listed SomnoMed has grown into one of the world’s most prominent and impactful medical device companies. Specialising in the development and manufacturing of instruments for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), SomnoMed has helped more than one million patients across 28 countries.
OSA is a form of disordered breathing, often caused by the airway at the back of the throat closing during sleep. Somnomed’s clinically proven oral devices help prevent this and have been reported to improve quality of sleep in 91% of patients.
In order to service its growing network of Australian and international clients, SomnoMed created SomAccount, an all in one e-commerce platform that allowed for a more intuitive ordering process for health care providers.
SomAccount would not just simplify operations and provide customers with a more seamless SommoMed experience, but also future-proof a company in the midst of international expansion.
THE CHALLENGE
In October 2022 SomAccount was preparing for a major European expansion, which would revolutionise the way in which clinics and patients access SomnoMed devices.
This promised to be far from a straightforward process. SomAccount’s platform was nuanced, wide ranging and technically dense, while integrating three enterprise grade systems.
Magento Cloud was used for order management and clinic interactions, Salesforce for customer relationship management and service workflows, and NetSuite for enterprise financials and resource planning.
Ensuring those three services were scaled appropriately was of utmost importance, but the true challenge of the project lay in making certain those integrations worked seamlessly across multiple countries, languages and compliance frameworks.
The enormity of a continent wide roll-out was only further emphasised by the need to support multiple European payment options and shipping carriers, while data security and healthcare guidelines added even more complexity.
Our Solution
